Abstract: In the recent years we have proposed a new accretion-ejection paradigm for compact objects consisting of a inner hot Jet Emitting Disk (JED) and an outer Standard Accretion Disk (SAD). Compared to SAD where the dominant local torque is due to a radial transport of the disk angular momentum, in the JED, magnetically-driven jets carry away mass, energy, and all the angular momentum vertically. I will introduce the JED-SAD paradigm and shows its successful application to reproduce the spectral evolution of X-ray binaries during their outburst. I will also discuss the recent applications of the JED-SAD model to explain the wind signatures and timing properties of XrB.
