PROTO-SPHERA: a magnetic confinement experiment which emulates the jet + torus astrophysical plasmas

The PROTO-SPHERA experiment was designed, built and operated at the CR-ENEA in Frascati as an attempt to emulate in the laboratory the jet + torus astrophysical plasmas. This talk tries to compare what was obtained in the laboratory with what is observed in Astrophysics. Particular emphasis will be dedicated to the Pulsar Wind Nebula (PWN) objects, which are among the jet + torus astrophysical objects the nearest to the Earth and whose observations are the most detailed ones.
