On Wednesday 9 October 2024, at 20:30 in the Aula Magna di Giurisprudenza of the Università Roma Tre, Giuseppe Piccioni of INAF IAPS will give a free lecture entitled ‘The ESA JUICE mission to the Jupiter system. The gist is: habitable or uninhabitable?’.
The JUICE mission (JUpiter ICy moons Explorer) represents one of the most ambitious scientific explorations carried out by the European Space Agency (ESA), with the aim of studying the Jupiter system and its main icy satellites, in particular Europa and Ganymede. During the talk, Piccioni will present the scientific details of the mission and the astrobiological implications of studying environments that could be habitable.
The event, organised as part of the ‘Physics meets the City’ lecture series by the Department of Mathematics and Physics of Roma Tre, is open to all scientific and academic personnel interested in learning more about the JUICE mission and its potential implications in the field of planetary physics and astrobiology.
Participation is free, subject to availability.
